This guy was so friendly, not scared of me at all. I brought him home to photograph. I fed him some chicken giblets before I let him go.
It's a glaucidium gnoma, dwarf owl.

For such a cutie it sure has some big talons and a sharp beak, I think it has a dark side Luke Skywalker

Yes. Its claws are really sharp.

That is one nice looking bird, how did you get him home, did he just stay on your hand. if he did do you think he might have been hand reared then released.
I am amazed he stayed with you without flying off. Oh and nice drapes.

Ah, you lucky dude :D. There haven't been many owls in Connecticut for awhile...at least not in western CT. We do have lots of Red-tail hawks, though ;).
