Here's an old axe head i received from a member of another forum......it's the one on the bottom right.....5588

Here it is after reshaping, cleaning up and sharpening, and yes it is very sharp now. I didn't want to clean it right up as i wanted to leave some of the character. I will try and rehandle it this weekend. I don't want it to have a light handle as i don't think it will go with the head. One way or another i am going to try and age the handle. Then i'll have a go at making a sheath for it, (my first).
I'm happy with the way it's turned out and it's saved me a few quid by not buying a G.B. small forest axe that i based it on.5589

Lovely looking axe head and nice work on it. By the time you are finished it will be worth more to you than any GB axe..
Remember the handle must be well seasoned before you fit the head. I have come unstuck with that before..
