View Full Version : Today's Fungi Forage

Well I have finally managed to have a day off work and away from the house so I made a quick dash out to a woodland here in Lancashire.

Fungi is really late this year (about 3 weeks by my records from last year). So I wasn't holding out too much hope of finding anything.

Boy was I wrong.

Here are some pics of just a few of the species I found.

Also found Hedgehog Fungi, Jelly Babies fungi (Leotia lubrica) and Trumpet Chantetelles.

Great pics Ade . Its realy somethin I need to learn about. Got a couple of books But still need to head out with someone that knows there stuff.

You should do well for Fungi up in Scotland pal. Plenty of Penny Buns and Chanterelles up there.

I gathered several kilos of each last time I was up there.

There's not much happening down in Sussex yet, although I am expecting that to all change now autumn has properly arrived. There wasn't a lot about on Saturday, but there will be by next weekend.
