Hi chaps,

Complete noob here. Got hooked on the crafts after a Bushcraft weekend I did with my boys, brother-in-law and his boys as a prezzi with http://www.wildernesscrafts.co.uk in the Ashdown Forest.
Bulding up my kit list and should be ready for my first stealth camp later this month. I'll do the first on my own (no pressure then) but would be cool to join you guys at some stage. Where is Marks Wood? I'm in Gravesend Kent. Have been doing a few recci's at Ashenbank Wood & Cozenden Wood too.

Cheers
Paul

Just tried to PM you Tony but it says "Tony1948 has exceeded their stored private messages quota and cannot accept further messages until they clear some space."

Looking forward to meeting you guys tomorrow.
I'll PM you my mobile when you've cleared some messages.

My boys rugby match has been cancelled (too many injuries) so now won't have to leave at the crack of dawn.
Is it still okay to meet at yours?
What time do you head home from the wood on Sunday?

Cheers
Paul

we usually started heading out about 12 after the best breakfast you are ever going to consume in any woodland ever. tip for you, bring bacon, and lots of it.

I'll add another item to the list.

#hammock
#tarp
#own body weight in bacon!

Anything else that should be traditionally brought?

to be honest lose the hammock and substitute it with more bacon haha. if you have a fold up shovel that will come in handy as im not sure which spot marks taking you to. if it A its completely useless. if its B that will be needed to dig a fire pit, maybe ask mark to advise and there's a good chance his bringing one after he completely destroyed my one. (not that yours will get broken i just had a shite shovel lol)

-preferred alcoholic beverage.
-Cash. Tony has a habit of bringing nice shiny things.

Spot B is good for rabbit snaring so if your into your trapping pre make them. double check with Mark though as spot A houses all the pheasants which is no go.

- Your sense of humor! Mark, Tony, Mac and Ian are a good bunch of lads, all know there stuff very well. Even if the weathers crap you'll still have a great time and be amazed at where this bolt hole is located. Its ideal and why O why O why more people dont jump on this is beyond me.

And if you find a spare pouch or space in your bergen another pack of bacon goes down very well.

Davey - In the Community, Groups, check out this group --> southeast natural bushcraft meet.

Also, if you dare to venture south of "the river", this one too --> Kent Natural Bushcrafters.

Future meets are generally posted there. We're recently from deepest darkest Kent where a good time was had by all.
