Greetings All,

As the title says, can anyone recommend a coffee perc for the open fire? Stove top ones are easy to come by and these new fangled ideas do not appeal.

Think big open starry night time skies, a lone coyote howling (do coyotes howl?), harmonica playing tunelessly. You get the pciture...

Thanks.

I have one of these, great for an open fire. Also comes with bale handle. There is a 20 and a 9 cup version.

Been thinking of looking for one for a while now so just had a look at this one myself. And then ordered one :ashamed:
This 9 cup one, cheapest I found at £19.99 --> http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wenzel-Coffee-Aluminium-Percolator-Basket/dp/B0017GZ934/ref=pd_rhf_sc_p_img_1

Picked a 1 cup percolator from the local flea market this morning for a pound... Just tried it and it's spot on... Well happy with it. :) :) :)

Yes, coyotes howl - they whimper, whine, howl, bark, yap, but when they see a mighty wafflestomping two-legged beast, they run :p.
I have a GSI 6 cup percolator in stainless steel which I use at home, though the rubberised handle wouldn't be good over an open fire. I believe Coleman makes an all stainless steel percolator........
OK, here's one for 12 cups, a little large (unless you are group camping), but this would be perfect over an open fire - http://www.amazon.com/Coleman-12-Cup-Stainless-Coffee-Percolator/dp/B0009PUQSM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1422453660&sr=8-1&keywords=Coleman+stainless+percolator
Personally, if it wasn't for the bulk of a percolator, I'd take one out with me...it's a shame many of them don't have folding handles.
