I went to Africa last month. In fact we went to Tunisia and found it the most remarkable place I've ever visited. We went for a two day 'safari' into the the Sahara Desert and I just don't have words to describe what it was like. Have a brilliant time mate and in the meantime, here are a few snaps of our time there.

Errr!
Living to the south of that beach you were on Martin, I believe it takes a long time for the tide to come in (lol) and you are something of a "Star Wars" fan, looks like a lot of fun!

Ha ha, all that was missing was the sea but that was a five hour drive away. I think all blokes who were 12 in 1978 were Star Wars fans. Getting to visit the place it was filmed was an added bonus. I'm really not sure what my 14 year old daughter made of it all.

When I was in kenya, some dude tried to buy my socks. There was no socks to be had anywhere. :-)
He was also interested in my beat to hell Nike's that had seen a years use in the Sudan, with holes and everything.
He got them for free as I was out shopping for new shoes anyway...lol

My son was in kenya 2 years ago with A.venture teaching kids Rugby . he left his old trainers outside the shack they were living in to dry because they had been walking in a river. he was only inside for 5 minutes came out and they were gone lol He saw them a couple of days later on one of the locals feet in the bar.
he was saying if its not nailed to the floor things have a habit of vanishing into thin air . But he would go back in a heartbeat.

The NHS is behind with the times. Do you get a swimsuit doctor here if you go private? :)

Martin,
Luke's Aunt and Uncle's homestead has been restored and repainted now, some fanboys raised about £10k and did lots of negotiations with the govt/local officials.
I think there planning on restoring all of the sites - mos eisley cantina - Old Ben's house.

Blue Milk anyone ?

Hi Guys I'm back now well I got back the other day :) I have a bit of an ear infection which is bugging me at the min so I havent been doing much :( What can I say about Africa it was a great experience :) But I didn't get to do any bushcraft stuff :( apart from see a few crocs in a park and some monkeys oh and I had a couple of lizards running around my room.
I did have a great time there but I thought being in africa the Jungle would be round the corner :) It wasnt and if it was I missed it LOL I dont think Gambia was the right place to go as there where no Elephants or Lions running around free :( Well not like in the TV :D
I lost my camera on a night out but I did get a photo of some Monkey walking all our compond wall that was about as wild as it got :D I think next time I will have to have a look for a Safari in the proper wilds and do a bit more research first LOL

Like I say I had a great time down there doing touristy things in the end but I didnt get to do any bushcrafty stuff :(
