My Janie likes to sort her nails out (like most girly's, and Martin do).. I noticed what she was using for the job, and thought, I wonder if that would work on knives..
It certainly does.. Her nail sharpening/polishing block is amazing on honing knives where you don't mind a convexed edge..
This is the sort of thing I am on about.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/270994378174?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_2856wt_1037
It has 7 grades of abrasion, but it goes really fine. I have honed a few knives on it and it works really well to keep the edge hair pinging sharp..

Nice one Janie. I have heard of people using that sort of thing before. Cheers for that and thx to Janie too. :)

Sharp knives is a bit of a sore point in this house at the moment. I sharpened the kitchen knives the same time as I did my knives.

Oops...

The missus' father hates when i sharpen his kitchen knives. Seems to think that blunter than a dogs dangler is safer than sharp. Ahh well.

Hehe. When he goes out replace them with those rubber knives they use in films, see if he notices. :p
