I've had Jon's Bushcraft website bookmarked for a long time, but something made me try two of his projects today. I made a comb for my daughter, and a berry picker for when the berries come out. Yum yum!

It's well worth taking a look at his other projects. They're fun and nicely rated from easy to hard: http://www.bushcraft.ridgeonnet.com/

Now to my results (Yew is the wood I seem to have most of in the garage, so that's what I used):

The comb for my daughter:

I think I'll snip the sharp ends off because they're not much use.

Not that easy. I'm not showing anyone the first attempt! :D

I didn't do it bushcraft style with a knife :ashamed: I used my drill press to drill the holes at the base between each tooth, then used the scroll saw to slowly eat the wood between the teeth away. Took a while, then it was a case of sanding each tooth from 180 grit down to 240. It just takes a long time.

I've really enjoyed doing some of Jon's projects. I think I'll try a few more one day. But tomorrow I'm planning on canoeing all day! :)
