As I have done this myself recently, I can tell you. A very warm and comfy sleep set up. But it is a trifle heavy and awkward to carry.

Now it looks like the good people at Military Mart have had the same idea, as they are selling this combo under the title

The eagle eyed amongst you may have noticed that it is actually cheaper to buy the products that make up this combo individually, by one whole English pence, but I just love that MM have put these two splendid items together.

This combo is completely unsuited to hiking then camping, unless all you intend to carry is this swag bag, but if you are only travelling from the car to your camp, then this is definitely a very comfortable option to consider.

Give it time and I'll be poshcrafting with the best of them :D

The Polish Army Sleep Mat (PASM) is incredibly comfy and I have always had a very pleasant nights sleep using it, but weighing in around the 9 kilo mark and packing down to the size of a small bale of hay, I must re-iterate that the PASM is very impractical for hiking camping.

If you are driving to near where you intend to camp, are not planning on moving camp and don't have much of a hike for your car to your camp site, then the PASM is your friend.

If you have a canoe, I imagine the PASM would be your friend too (although not having a canoe myself, I can not say for sure)

And if you cycle to camp and have a sturdy pannier (which I now have) the PASM sits happily on top.

I should also point out that while you can put the PASM inside the CABR, unless you are pretty thin, you'll not get in there with them. Personally I sleep inside the CABR on top of the PASM, to maximize space and comfort, but each to there own.
