I finished this one earlier today....I'm not totally happy with it as I ran the belts a bit fast and burnt the Micarta a bit on the butt....never mind it's all good practice.

That looks a nice shape. Even though I prefer natural handles, I am strangely drawn towards that green micarta.

Hi Mike

It's based on the woodlore which has a swell sort of mid handle but as you know each one is slightly unique in it's own way. Personally I like the knife style although i tend to use smaller knives now as a preference.

This one's going to a mate of mine in Savana Illinois as a gift, it's a homage to Bob Loveless with green micarta and red liners, I've just got to finish a sheath then it's off to the Post office.

I keep meaning to send you a photo of my grinder, I'll try and get around to that soon fella.

Thanks to everyone for your kind words.

I know what you mean. In the past week I made a Shaman knife with a green micarta handle, I prefer wood as well but micarta is interesting stuff!

Beautiful knives :) I also prefer natural handles, but i'll be damned if there isnt something about that micarta! Really odd...

I quite like the stuff as well, except cutting/sanding it, stinky stuff which I do outside, but sanding with paper is kind of interesting, hard to describe but you feel a soft zing-zing-zing rubbing under the paper, at least with the 100x on canvas micarta (the knife above is linen micarta).
