Blimey mate! you must be a mind reader, iwas thinking the same thing! I picked up some flint last weekend and was thinking of having a go at some knapping. i just fancy trying to make a cutting tool, nothing fancy. Someone told me the other day to only use fresh dug flint? Any one got any hints n tips? Paul

As Steve said, John Lord is a flint god!

There is also a kid called Alex, uses the name Primitive Man, on the forums who is a bit of a child prodigy with flint and glass knapping.

I recently got his book, the nature and subsequent uses of flint (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nature-Subsequent-Uses-Flint-Technology/dp/0952135604), and have found it very informative.
