View Full Version : Hawk loop idea

Have an idea to try braiding up a hawk loop for my belt from some 550 cord. Took a piece wanted to see how it would feel before taking the time to fully do it up. I will be working on it later on and if comes out good will post pics of it

You watch how you go with that, I'd be more incined to make a sheath for the sharp bit first,then a hanger for you'r beltT^

The sheath is in the works soon as I can acquire the leather and a few tools. I mainly wanted the hanger so when switching to a knife I didn't have to set it on the ground or have a log to stab it into I just can't stand putting my tools on the ground. Closest they get to the ground is a log sitting next to me otherwise right back in the bag or my pockets

Oh one more thing this loop won't be for walking around with the tool just during use

I now wot you meen about you'r tools being close to you.I sold one of my knife today the first one ever, it was like getting rid of a bit of me ,but it went to a good home wair it will be well appreciated and looked after,did you see the spoon and Kuksa that I'v just finnished39273928

WOW damn Tony those are stunning. Really dig the wood burning you did on both of them. What kind of wood are they from?

I think it is wild cherry but not shore,the bit down the back of the Kuksa handle is a crack in the wood I filled with epoxy resin and sordust.Dont look to bad.

A while back you showed a old cut throat razor that you was thinking of modifing,just wondered if you ever done anything with it,sorry if i got the wrong guy,been a long hard week and i been drinking !!!!!

LOL right forgot about that. Nope haven't had the chance to do anything to that yet other than to take off the handle. still plan to make a carver out of it just got to many carvings to get out for trades lol
