hi all ,
after much reading and youtubing i have ordered some stuff today !!

until now everything i've been playing about with has been what was lying around the house . ( hobo stove from a pineapple ring tin , pop can stoves from my extensive collection of empty ale cans and a part put together EDC , but the urge to progress a bit further became too much :)

so on it's way is a mora companion carbon mg (only £8.50 !!!),
olive paracord and
a fire steel .

i've also been on a recce of a wood not to far from home and it's deserted not even dog walkers .....

can't wait :)

firmly with even the back teeth :)

i'm starting on the easy stuff like a brew in the wild on the hobo using a meths burner but would like to practice my skills and hone them right upto trekking self sufficiant style ...

was a cub , scout and venture and have since been fishing alot (weeks at at time) camping but walking is my passion which would be heightened by looking after myself ....

look at post #1 ... thats exactly what i've done ;)

oh and don't worry , i will ..

i will probably end up enjoying the solitude but sort of wish i had a like minded bud to share the journey with..

the mrs is great in as much as she encourages me to do the things i enjoy and even got me a bushcraft cd rom book for crimbo along with a few other bits and bobs BUT she draws the line at being out in the dark and cold even if she wants all the benefits of being able to have a hot brew when out on a walk !!!!....

There are loads of people and meet ups on here bud so i'm sure you'll get drawn into the community soon, and thats when you really start to learning, my advice to you mate is to get along to your nearest meet and watch, try and chat, best way!
