First things first - happy New Year everyone.
Hope your 2012 has got off to a good start. I've just had to bury my mum's dead budgie! Poor thing. Still, he had a good innings and wasn't taken before his time.
Anyway.
What I've been doing inbetween Christmas and New Year is make a possibles pouch. I call it a 'possibles pouch' but in reality it will either be a first aid pouch or a fire-starting pouch.
Here's a couple of pictures:

Happy New Year and all that.

Excellent workmanship on that, and it looks like "leather for a lifetime".

excellent work! the combi with the knife looks very good. I like the way both (kife and bouch) dangle below the belt so you can have a pullover/jacket/smock on and still access your gear.

Very nice looking.
I wish my first attempt at leather work was that GOOD will have to try to do some leather at some stage, keep up the GOOD work.

Nice work, I love the roughness of the design and the implimentation of that look. Gives me some ideas to make my own, I quite like the hangers and the closure set up. :)

I did make this two years ago, similar closure type (this was for a while, a tinder/striker bag, has since become the residence for my camp axe/tomohawk head):

I made a hard leather belt pouch too, can't find the pics of it right now, but is about the same size as yours, same shape, and best use of it I found was to load with fishing lures for when I want to head out in my waders or even just walk 20-30ft from my chair and tackle box to cover a bit more area.

Thats a great looking and practical set up. Ive never tried working leather, though i dont think my attempts would come anywhere as good as that. Mac
