Hi all I have been looking at the Bush Buddy type stoves and like the idea, but cannot agree with spending that mush money on one so I had a go at making my own :)

Really clever. I had a go at making one from a large dog food tin and it sort of worked til you put the pan on the top. All the vents at the bottom and the mesh at the top look like that will sort out the poor combustion problem I had. Is it 2 cans or just one? Do you have a hole in the side for fuel or do you just put twigs through the lattice at the top?

Great little stoves ...love them......carry bag is a must though because of the sooty residue...very good boil time's on small amounts of wood.
Thanks for sharing.

you need 2 tins one inside the other I'll send you a basic plan, it was a case of lift the pan off the top and add fuel but jus redesigned that flaw on the mk2 i have just made will post pics later

That's very good. I will have a go at making one. Does the inner can rest on the bottom of the inner one, or is it raised up.
