Any ideas???

Found these near to a friends fish pond, but growing near the railway sleepers surrounding the pond. they also did not last long before going off, could be that they are late due to weather conditions?

These are inkcaps. Is that the remains of a fire? If so, they are probably Coprinus domesticus - Firerug Inkcap.

Glad someone has knowledge of such things,.... I used to gather a eat field mushrooms, as I got older I lost my nerve and now buy them instead :ashamed:

Hi Realearner

All inkcaps "deliquesce", or turn into an inky fluid containing the spores. The first picture shows these doing this.
