I think it is white oak but not sure just a bit I had in my workshop.

Purdy little knife dig the Moras for sure thanks for the pics will come in handy for when I get my big one

Am going to have another go, trying a different method next time. Going to extend the tang and slot the new handle on, pictures will follow.
