Hi folks.

Here is a video review I did for a steel striker designed to be used with flint and chat cloth for fire lighting.

The steel is made by famous English blacksmith Andrew Kirkham. Some of you should recognise his name.

I'm new to this forum so please delete this or move as appropriate.

Many thanks

Nice review. Thank's for sharing T^

Looks like a high quality piece of gear. I have been using flint and steel since I started re-enacting 10 years ago, I have never seen a steel throw so many sparks either.

Thank you for your kind comments.

I have to say that I was stunned by it. The first part of the video was done on a really bright day (unusual for Lancashire) with a light cross wind and the sparks were still very bright, numerous and hot.

I have used steels for a few years now and this one beats all the others. Flint, steel & charcloth are my number 1 choice for firefighting these days.
