Well today I was gifted a flint and steel kit from a member and friend on another site got to try it for the first time a little while ago and caught my first spark :D never had a flint kit before and gotta say best fun I had in ages lighting a fire,have not made a full fire yet just got the spark on a bit of char cloth

Charcloth is brill stuff, something I'm going to use more of this year.

Thanks never used it before let alone a steel and flint kit I was surprised how fast it took the spark now just need to do a full fire LOL

alright I remember the first time I sparked a fire without matches and stuff a real confidence boost :campfire:

I've never used a flint and steel like this. I also tend to cheat and carry a nice amount of fresh cotton wool. This whole way of doing things looks more rewarding satisfying.

It is very the first time you get a spark ad catch the ember from it :D
