So, a coupla weeks back, me and the kids were cycling over the Goss Moor and came across this little beauty :)

Link works fine now, thanks. But with a name like road-kill-Phil, I expected you to drive over the little begger (or at least get it with a spade) and then tell us which adder soup recipe you used! ;)
They are very pretty creatures though aren't they.

Is that a blackberry I see in the last few frames Phil?
Puts a bit of an awareness slant on foraging and I must say I don't remeber adders being that large!

Lucky for the Adder that Digger didn't see it. He seems to have a pathological hatred of snakes but I'm told that is a trait of the breed.
When we were in France this year he came back with two on different occaissions - caused no end of panic on the site that we were staying at :)

Very nice V. Berus. I remember catching them as a kid with my snake hook and relocating them from populated areas. Haven't seen or caught one for about a year now...
