About time we got back to basics, it seems like the fundementals have all been forgotten about recently and bushcraft has wandered off the path. good vid,

Brilliant video, unto your usual standard.
I have not had an opportunity to have an open fire in woods yet, still waiting.
But when I do this will stand me in good stead.

This video has had 1,000 views in the first 2 days of being up! Not bad!

You've got to love the net & YouTube --> It's nice knowing you can share skills to such a wide audience and all for free.

Superb Video Ashley,
I love the back to basics stuff as this is the core of what we all like to do. Fire, Water, Shelter, Food, the most important subjects as far as I'm concerned.

Also love your format and quality of the videos. Very well presented and very well put forward. Keep up the good work.

(Is that the new T-shirt yout wearing? or one of the earlier ones? :p)

(Is that the new T-shirt yout wearing? or one of the earlier ones? :p)It's the new T-Shirt alright! Forgot about that, I purposively put it on for that video and was going to post in that thread, which I will do now.

great video. Next step up is to use a fire steel to light it instead of a lighter.:campfire:

great video. Next step up is to use a fire steel to light it instead of a lighter.:campfire:I actually use my Firesteel 90% of the time when I'm out camping however in this video I purposely wanted to keep the ignition tool simple (because that wasn't really what we wanted to focus on). What I'm getting at is a match or lighter is a lot easier for youngsters or new bushcrafters to use, this let's them focus on the fire-building instead of struggling with lighting their tinder.

Thanks for your feedback :) Glad you enjoyed the vid!
