Depends where you go, the tides, time of day, bait/lure, etc. I was canoeing last Thursday evening on the Exe estuary when the tide was rising. I saw two chaps pull something out just as I was putting my canoe in the water.

Well my son went out the other night, came back with four nice little whiting, and his mates had a few also.
That was in Kent at the Hythe beach night tide.

i use peeler crabs,or mackie strip bernie,i only ever lure fish in the summer months, ive been using a pulley rig and the other rod is on a float set up,it might have been a flatfish they were hauling up,i know theres a lot of activity on the local estuary's at present.never ever fished the exe,ive been to budleigh,
