Hi there
Check out the large Alice Pack. Massive capacity, looks the part with its retro style. Endicotts has them new for £55. These packs are tough, very versatile, loads of pocket space too. I use one for my current carry, but I've upgraded to the Molle II straps and kidney belt. I didi a post on it a while back.
Cheers
Gareth

Vango Sherpa 60+10; http://www.vango.co.uk/rucsacs/sherpa-60+10.html

A good pack, with a fully adjustable carrying system, at a good price - and a lot more comfortable than the old alice pack :)

I found the Karrimor Panther to be a good pack for not a lot of money. I bought mine from millets.

You might get that in the sherpa but you would need to open the divider between the top and bottom compartments. Not a big problem as its only a drawstring

I've always used Karrimor stuff but as I need a new50litre sack I'm looking at the snugpak range. I have their response pac and it's really well made. I would consider the rocket pac for my next one. I paid good money for an Alice pack when I was in the mob and ended up pulling my old Karrimor patrol sack out of the back of the wardrobe pretty quick, hated it. Try militarykit.com for their range or heinne.com. Both good companies to deal with.

I use a golite Jam,it's 50 litres, lightweight and made from dyneema.I can get everything I need for a week into it including food(mostly dehydrated stuff).

I have an Osprey crescent 70 litre for sale if your interested,it's in as new condition.I'm looking for £75 ONO plus whatever postage method you'd like.

I found the Karrimor Sabre 70 to be a great rucksack, It costs £140.00 but it is completely bombproof (http://www.raymears.com/Bushcraft_Product/292-Karrimor-Sabre-75-litre-Rucksack/). You could also try a surplus PLCE Bergen.
