Evening all. I grabbed one of the aforementioned candle lanterns off ebay, and in my research saw a vid on youtube about a spirit burner which would turn it into a stove at a pinch. Have any of you chaps seen/used one and where can they be bought if they're any good?

Have you got a link to the youtube vid? It would help to identify the type of spirit burner.

Having looked at the vid I doubt that it would be suitable as a stove. The flame is too small and unlikely to produce enough heat in any respectable time to boil water. The spirit burner is designed as a replacement for the candle - less likely to blow out and longer burn time probably. Haven't come across any myself.
