A weekend prior to this past one was out fishing on a boat with a bud and my normally water-resistant pants ended up getting soaked from sitting aroun, I was damp through my pants and long underwear after, it sucked, so I went out last week and bought a pair of these:

Really high quality, lined with polyester, 100% waterproof polyester shell with PVC backing on it, paid $50 for them. Havent worn in the rain but might toay while out shore fishing (is rather grey this morning and calling for rain.

We dont get sears over here but most of the pants i have been looking at are of similar design and about the same price...

As for the bet wollocks... I am getting some quick dry underpants, I often get the same when its stormy

had a pair of these for 8 years now and still going strong, and they have had some real hammer.

I can recommend Keela overtrousers too, functional and wont break the bank

functional, robust and fairly cheap - Keela are a major supplier to both MOD and Police as well as Mountain Rescue and SAR teams so the gear cant be that bad - got an ADS base layer and some scuffers trousers on now

I dont work for them by the way

I know, I didn't get mine from Sears anyways, just the first link I found that had a good pic and description of the pants. Are available at many places, although now that I think of it, Viking Wear is Canadian company, so maybe it'd still be difficult for you to get over there. I bought the Tempest II jacket a year and a half ago, came with a zip out fleece lining, I understood it as a waterproof winter jacket, never occured to me to take it on my last fishing trip, would have really helped me out. Lol

I've got some of these. I've had them for a couple of years and they're pretty good. Never let the water in, fairly breathable and not too hot. They pack small and don't weigh very much in my pack.
