Hello everyone. My name is Andrew. Excited about the coming of spring. Hopefully get out more this year. I always want plan to and work holds me back. Need a local spot to cut out the two hour drive to somewhere nice. I could see daffodils and the blossom creeping out today in work. Probably not a good sign for global warming but I must admit I enjoyed the mild weather all of last year. It's about time Scotland had some decent warm weather and probably about time for me to shut up!

Often get up to Wanlockhead,prospecting n panning for gold!also a bit of stalking around Dunfries n Galloway.
usually when weather warmer n the midge are biting.lol.m

thanks Ross. Hi Midas. I had to Google where Wanlockhead was. Shocking eh? I worked with a guy who used to live and take tour guides in the leadhills. He said the scenery is something else and I should go. I will need to take a trip to there. I have been heading north recently around oban. I have camped a few times around Galloway. I have been trying to find a broadleaf woodland. Those sitka spruce are only good for ikea furniture. The Scottish government seem to love sticking them everywhere! Maybe when I have more confidence in my skills I can visit a Ln ancient woodland down your neck. I have a balaclava for when they get bad haha. Avon skin so soft works for about 3 mind and they are onto you! Thanks for the welcome

Ive always stayed either around Loch Ken or The Gate Way of Fleet.In Galloway.
Yes Avon n Deet work quite well,n I have one of those nets that makes me look like a beekeeper.lol.
But you cant eat with it on.lol.
Strange never used to get bothered by bugs n flies,when I smoked cigars.
Though I find woodsmoke n Citrona candle quite useful around camp.atb.m
