Thoughts on this Ray Mears rucksack?

Never used it but it looks good but £165 that is a lot of money.

The price does not seem to be any worse than some of the offerings from Cotswold Outdoor; in fact, it's a lot more affordable than some of the sacs on display
I would want to try one on first though-preferably with a load in it

I don't see any mention of a frame within the pack. With the capacity being so large I wonder how well it would carry but saying that, it does look rather nice.
As happybonzo says, the price is not that bad. I have an Osprey pack which will cost you around £110, I also recently bought a Vango 65 litre pack at £120 which is considered a mid type range so the price is not really over the top.

It says it has a 'lightweight, internal metal frame.' Not sure if it is enough for a 90 litre pack. Looks nice though. And if they're made in small batches in the UK I'd have good hopes for quality control.

Looks very similar to a Karrimor Sabre to me, with the inclusion of a pouch on the back.
Although I don't mean anything by that - the Sabre is pretty universal in appearance.
When this pack (the Leafcutter) first came out there was someone on one of the other bushcraft forums who bought one and had problems with it. I can't remember the nature of those problems, whether it was just poor comfort or the thing falling apart. I do recall they contacted Woodlore and Woodlore responded that they would look into the faults. That was some time ago though (a year or two) so one would hope that if there are any shortcomings they have been addressed.
Me? I wouldn't buy it.
I am very sure it's good at what it does, but if I was to buy a new pack of that size today then I would want something more up to date - it does strike me as a very old-fashioned type pack, and not in that retro-canvass pack style either. I suppose what I mean by that is that I'd like to see some kind of MOLLE system. I prefer the versatility of the MOLLE system, being able to make the pack what you what it to be and able to change configuration depending on needs. Even more so at that price. But that's me and my tastes - we all have our own. Be that as it may, before shelling out that kind of money I would want to see it in the flesh and try it on first, especially in the light of the pack having early teething problems. I'd want to make sure they'd been sorted out.
Edit: Here's a link to the review of the pack from the other forum: http://www.bushcraftuk.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=108556

Looks ok but is it a one size fits all.
No adjustable back or made in different back lengths.
For a largish pack that could be damned uncomfortable when loaded.

It looks a lot like the old issue GS/SAS rucksack but with a internal frame.
