    Modding the LK-35

Surplus backpacks can be heavy, so why not take off some of that weight?
I recycled an older rucksack and used some of the parts to not only lighten my LK-35, but make it more congenial to carry.

That is a good idea, I used to take the frame off one of my old rucksacks as it was heavy.

Excellent and slightly spooky..I was only looking at those LK 35's on a website earlier today, thinking what a pity that they had such heavy frames. That's a really practical alteration.

Aye, I imagine the LK-70 would be a nightmare
A few folks here in the US have also modded their packs (mostly ALICEs) and used PVC pipes for the frame.
