Im so gutted. Iv been looking absolutely everywhere for the bolo tramontina. Then i read this and see your found one at ronnies this month. Although NOW its "out of stock". Depressing. Any idea where i might be able to get hold of one! I will love you unconditionally.

Like you say, none of those are the bolo (despite the first one saying it is).

This is the only place I've found that has them in stock so far

To be frank, I have been a bit dissapointed in the Tramontina. Im not sure if its just mine or if they all suffer the same problem but the blade is very soft and hardly keeps an edge. I used it in the garden and it was as blunt as a blunt thing after just a few minutes cutting bramble. The scandi section folds over at the slightest provacation. Im going to forge a Parang/billhook jobbie and make it hard.

Sounds like you might have gotten a bad one The only think that has rolled the edge on mine is when I let a friend use it, and they hit barbed wire.
Forging a hacking tool of your own sounds great though. Would like to see what you can come up with

I went through the checkout the other day for the bolo on that site to see what the shipping would be, Came to roughly £60 altogether :/

    £60? That's ridiculous.
Might be worth giving these guys a call: http://www.nomadtravel.co.uk/p/3139/...Carbon-Machete

If not, places like the bushcraft store are usually pretty good at getting stock replenished regularly, so worth checking back on their sites

Or just found these guys. Works out at £21.75 with postage, which is a little on the expensive side, but not as bad as £60 if you can't wait to get hold of one
