First up is a heron and a kingfisher having a race - see who can get away from me the quickest!

And a first for me - a stonechat:

Good work. I don't think I'd have spotted that kingfisher if you hadn't. mentioned it.

Yeah, that is a good one. I love the colours - the purples and browns. Rather looks like a good bruise.

This morning we had a very bright red sky. Not such a mix of colours as your own, but very bright, almost neon...

The Heron and the Kingfisher! Fantastic photo. A B52 with fighter escort...

Those morning red skies do not bode well for incoming weather..but the photos are great.

Sometimes you see green shades as well. I remember one sunset my mother took several years ago, just off the road on top of a hill, and I swear it had every shade of visual light, including green and purples. That one was worthy for desktop background status

Loki's Ice giants have brought us a nor'easter!!
Snow started this morning, right now we have around 15 cm/6 inches in relatively sheltered spots away from the wind. But in the open, with all the gusts (about 40 kmh, according to Mr.Weatherman) whizzing through, the snow drifts can be surprisingly deep. Current temp is -4.5 C...that makes for a -13 C wind chill with the gusts, and -11 C with an average wind speed of 27 kmh. But I am loving it .
