    Serving Spoon/Ladle and some Kolrosing

My wife asked if I could make her a ladle or something larger so she could use it as a serving spoon. As is often the case when using scrap wood, the design that you first have in mind gets altered along the way by splits chips etc. And that is very much the case with this spoon. The handle was originally about 2" longer than it ended up and it was straighter in the original concept.

In the last couple of spoons that I have made, I have tried to make the bowl as circular as possible. This is as much for practice and skill building as much as for any aesthetic value.

You can see from the pictures that I changed the kolrose design on the handle. The cross hatch ended looking a little busy in such a small area so I went with a different motif.

    Hope you like it.

I cheated, Tesco have a range of nylon type of surving spoons, spatula type things for 50p each, i just bought one of each to go in my bag.
