Question Growing a Plant - ID

I'm growing this little fellow on my office windowsill, a plant that I want to get to know better and hopefully use (not eat), I will rename this thread with it's name when someone ID's it correctly

Ok, hints: It's not rubber or sage, I heard this is a plant the Romans may have introduceds into Britain (not sure of the accuracy of that though).

I appreciate it might be hard to tell this young plant apart from others at this early stage. I can't take another shot right now as I'm not at the office.

    Any more guesses?
