Hi all.
I'm after a piece of leather large enough to make a sheath for my axe.
I'd be willing to either pay cash or swap for one of my home made fire pistons.

It's not the cough that carries you off,
It's the coffin they carry you off in!
Wot sort of axe is it Bob?
Just a cheapo from toolstation that I rubbed down and personalised a little bit. It's now shaving sharp and if you never knew any better would fetch five or ten times it's worth on the bay with the right interest.

It might not be what you are after, but you can pick up leather products pretty cheap in charity / 2nd hand shops (SWMBO has found several bags and jackets in them) and I imagine if you are happy to cut them up, there would be enough leather to make a sheath.
But as I know naff all about leather working, like I say, such leather may not be suitable to your needs?
Anyway good luck.

Sorry for the delay and thanks for the replies.
I have looked at ebay, but to be honest I'm not too sure about what I'm really looking for.
Should I be looking at 2mm or 3mm? Cows? pigs? or will anything do for ease of working with?

For an axe sheath you want 2mm to 2'8, 3mm is a bit to thick.
