Isn't it nice when someone says "that's a great piece of kit, where did you buy that", then you can modestly reply "you can't buy it, I made it myself". The moral is, it's amazing what you can achieve if you put your mind to it.

I would also suggest that anyone looking to volunteer either 'full time' or now and then checks which local scout groups checks out what space the group has around it's HQ for a fire etc to do bushcraft evenings.
Seriously considering my future in scouting having just received an email celebrating 'diversity' no problem with the idea of diversity but emphasis on London Pride to me detracts from the wholesomeness of the organisation and teaching an abnormality as something to be celebrated doesn't sit well. But maybe that's another thread for another place.
