    BSA Mercury .22

    Afternoon lads,

    Found the father in laws old air rifle in the garage ! Had a look at it it cocks, the trigger works but nothing comes out, air or pellets. any ideas on what may be needed to fix it ?

    Any advice welcome

    Sounds like the cocking leaver aint pushing the spring back .. Take it apart and give it an oil bath and a real good cleen and you got yerself a real good bunny buster!

    If it goes "twang " when you pull the trigger then it's as sapper said,if not it sounds like somethings bust(cocking lever pin?). Paul

    I'll strip it down and look at the parts, looks like most things can be found on e bay for it !

    Stripped it down ordered some parts !

    Buffer washer, breach seal, piston o ring, piston head, piston pin ......worth spending a bit of money on it then hopefully go get some rabbits with it ! Looking at the barrel serial number it's from the 70's, not sure if to rub it all down and re paint parts & varnish the stock or just leave it as is

    So just waiting on parts then away we go

    I owned a BSA Mercury .22 years ago. Was brilliant for bunny control Agree with Al, well worth fixing it up!

    She is ALIVE got it back together today when the parts arrived, sent a few pellets down range all fine ;-)

    Just need now a new rear sight as the one on it is missing windage etc
