    High Tech Leather Bearing Block

John Rodgers asked about this in the bushcraft knife thread. I hope this clears it up. These are easy to make and work well.

It's just a series of thick leather disks with a wheel bearing imbedded in the center.

I had used the same piece of cowhide as I used for my Skookum Bush Tool sheath with the same beeswax paraffin mixture to weather proof, so they are a matched set.

I'm just sitting here shaking my head. That is utterly cool.
Not cheating at all in my opinion.

I really love that idea. We've got loads of old bearings gathering dust somewhere, I will have to give that a go.

Cheating absolutely not, innovative yes and thats how it should be, no point making things more difficult than they need to be.

I made it clear in the video that the idea wasn't mine, others have done this and to tell the truth I don't remember where I came across the idea first. The leather piece is my interpretation of the concept. They're not hard to build. I actually made two of them, the one with the coin inside works better and I feel will last longer.
