Hedge laying in the morning !

Laying the in laws hedge in the morning, it's a right mess all the neighbours on the opposite side have been chopping at it for years so it's all at different levels, not really ideal conditions but I recon I can make a better looking hedge than what is there at the mo plus get some nice bits of wood out for the fire and for carving, got about 30 metres to lay so should be fun plus need to cast up the old banking that as subsided should keep me busy for a few days.

I'll stick a few before look up later, in between picking up the kids from school, pulling wire mesh and other bits of stuff that as been used to fill in the hedge over the years progress was limited !!! Still got about twenty foot done on the worse bit of the hedge, but in all honesty if I had my way it would have been cut down to the ground to start again, but I had to make something from it

@ happybonzo, the hedge needing laying 21 yrs ago when the inlaws moved in but they wanted to leave it as it was they thought it looked nice !!!!

Just got two stumps to cut out but other than that all done, should fill out ok to keep the neighbours dogs out, took longer than expected but with other work coming in it had to wait, had three nights of fires which my lad enjoyed helping with. Planted up the gaps with some new hazel saplings as you can see from one of the pictures there was not enough growth to lay in the middle section, but all in all the in laws are happy with it !!

Must remember to wear gloves next time I do one
