Here's my first attempt at forging a poker. Ok, it's not totally forged, as the ring was already on the end of the bar, but I forged the spike and twist into it. Just painted with smooth hammerite at the minute, but will paint with stove paint when it gets grubby.

I'll have a hunt around for some 1/2 inch square steel. Should be all over the local scrapyard (they use it for bars on the windows)
