Ha ha ha ! You could always offer to demonstrate the principals of "Perfect Pitch" where you stand back and get it straight into the bin without it touching the sides !!! Ha ha ha !!!
Just dont let him hear any diddly music or he'll get hooked like I was !

I had a go at nettle cordage, but when it came to separating the fibres into long strips, they just sort of shredded so I ended up with no bits that were long enough to do much with.

Yeah that seems to happen to most nettles. I only use nettle cordage for small bits 'n' bobs. I guess that persistence is the trick.

Oh - I was hoping I was doing summat wrong, someone would tell me what, and next thing I'd be producing yards of superstrong cordage...

Got a couple of projects on the go, 1) trying to make a portable windshield come pit stand for a trangia or my home made burner. 2) rehandling a cheap mora 511 knife I got for a fiver. 3) finishing a couple of walking staffs. 4) playing with making a half-penny stove that's efficient and reliable for a quick one cup brew.
But always have my head working on other things to make

Just QUICKLY made 2 stoves. One following bigzee's design using a lynx can and one smaller using guesswork and luck from a can of womens deodorant. Yes I know the workmanship leaves ALOT to be desired but I'll tidy them up later.
