A one day old foal on spotted on Dartmoor

As Ivan and myself returned from our practice run of the 7 mile moors trek (for the meet at the end of next month), we spotted a day old foal, his sister and his mother, hiding away from the usual routes across the moors.

Every mile on a river takes you further from home than every hundred miles on a road.

I hope thats a birchbark canoe in your pocket.... - I guess i should give some credit to Metal Mug

It is quite unsual that, normally they would move away.

They eventually moved away, but only after a few minutes, so we decided to move away instead, let her have her patch of ground back

No they just live on the moor, Dartmoor ponies. A little like New Forest ponies but a little smaller.
