Well did you ever get a good knife ?
I use one of the more inexpensive Gerber saws, and it works fine. If i was going out for extended periods of time perhaps i would look into something more sturdy.
Beautiful land and great shots.
I would have to say Ray Mears. I was in the U.S. Army, but actually that kind of turned me off the outdoors, they kind have a way of ruining a good thing :war:
But I always liked camping and...
Just stunning, excellent work friendT^
Excellent idea, looking forward to the results.
I along with my wife got a pair of snowshoes, been wanting a pair for such a long time, really excited about getting out in the deep snow...now I wish it would snow:(
Here is one you might not see in the UK. I was invited to a ranch for a "cutting" competition. The cowboy is cutting one calf out of the herd and trying to keep it from returning to it. The horses...

As I walk into this "new" way of life for me, I realize I am so fortunate to have many pieces of gear which will last me to the grave. My anchors to bushcraft are my knives, I...
Looks to be another fun project.

Sadly we have a green Christmas this year, oh well can't get them all.
Here is one not too far from the house, standing on the bridge going over the Rochester harbor.
A very cold and...
Very nice photos, this one is from Texas at Big Bend National Park, it's location is named "The Window", there is no post processing with the color, I think I cropped it a little so it would fit.3332
Excellent review ! well thought out and with fine pix. I appreciate you doing the feathering after the battoning, i find that most important. Although twice the price as other Helle knives, still...
Very nice work
Great Video T^ You have given me a new idea about my set up, thank you
Proventure, you make a great point, pun intended ;)
Martin, so very true.
I went out today again to my little spot in the woods to practice cooking in my billy can. Cajun rice and beans, which can be pretty tricky, at least for me.
Well I started my fire, which was a...
Stunning ! Food and camp and company looked fantastic, well done. Cheers
Brillant ! I luv that method. My boot laces are forever coming undone. T^
Theyare too much on the "rambo" look for my taste. They are decent for the cost. I would find a local dealer in a bushcraft style knife, you'll be much happier.
I would be concerned with the veg. oil turning rancid and actually begin to rot. I know the "preserve" mink oil and the like, step carefully.
That looks to be a real dandy ! I myself am partial to the smaller knives. T^
Very Nice
Holy Crow !! 25 months  I know quality is worth waiting for, you are more of a patient man than I.
cheers
I concur ! There are a couple near the house, a bit elusive , but when I am lucky enough , I could sit and watch them all day.
