DD Hammocks
DD Camp & Travel Hammocks

DD Hammocks produce quality hammocks and tarps for very reasonable price. DD Hammocks come in two different types;

The Tavel Hammock (2008)
Travel HammockBoth types of hammock come with their own stuff-sack and webbing. The difference between the two is that the Travel Hammock has built in fine fly-net to stop insects and midges. The camping hammock has no netting, but it  does have plenty of material and can be zipped up to create a full cocoon style hammock as shown below:

The Camping Hammock (2008)
Camping HammockThese hammocks are a lovely way to camp, allowing you to rest above the ground and be immersed in nature giving you the best view of the woods. If you know it will be dry you can use the hammock on its own, however if its going to be wet or you plan to stay for a number of days it would be best to use a Tarp in conjunction with your hammock. DD Hammocks also produce tarps. I have both a camping & travel hammock but with them I personally use a Tatonka tarp (Tarp 2TC Cotton Polyester mix). As of yet there's no significant reason why I use a Tatonka one as oppose a DD Hammock one, I have only recently received my first DD Tarp, I haven't had a chance to use it yet, but it does seem a little heavier.

Webbing Versions (2008 & Previous)
Hammock in Forrest BushmootWebbing
The darker webbing pictured ontop is the new 2008 webbing which is supposedly stronger and stretches less than the previous webbing pictured on the bottom. I have recently been using my new Travel Hammock in a spruce/pine wood and have found the webbing to snag and fray with ground debris when pitching, now im not one who worries to much about the appearance of my kit but im guessing the fraying could affect the integrity of the webbing with continued use in those conditions.
