The Suburban Bushwacker - suburbanbushwacker.blogspot.com - "A bit fat, a bit lazy, a happy suburban dad. I love to be outdoors, cooking and eating wild food. And for my next trick I shall turn myself into a bow-wielding Elk Hunter!"... To awake from my comfortable homeostasis, rediscover my physical self and embark on the adventure of reconnecting with the natural world. Fat and lazy as I am, I get the feeling it’s going to be a rude awakening! I live in one of the most highly urbanised societies on earth, and it shows. Mainly around the middle! Ambition: Hunt, and kill a massive Elk with a bow. To skin it, butcher it, put it’s meat on the table and in the freezer, hang its skull and antlers on the wall, spread its hide across our bed and love-wrestle Mrs Bushwacker on top of it in its honour. Between here and there: Lose quite a lot of weight, gain quite a lot of muscle, develop endurance, learn archery, learn bushcraft and stalking skills, choose then buy (or trade for) all the kit needed to trek out into the wilderness, kill and bring back the body of my noble prey.

Knife Making & Supplies
Dave Budd Handmade Tools - www.davebudd.com - The tools that I make are made totally by me using a mixture of modern and traditional skills. All of the steel parts are hand forged and heat-treated in-house using a combination of selective hardening and tempering processes, that way I can get the best combination of toughness and edge retention that the steel can offer. I prefer to use locally sourced hardwoods for my handles, but I also work in more exotic materials. Modern parts such as Micarta and mosaic pins are also made in-house.
My courses cover a wide range of subjects including knife making, bow making, basketry, greenwood work, elements of bushcraft and various specialist archaeologically orientated subjects. I can teach one-to-one tool/knife making in my workshop or groups of up to 6 using my ‘primitive’ outdoor set up.
Berax UK - www.berax.co.uk - Handcrafted Bushcraft Knives, made by an outdoorsman for the outdoorsman. Hand-crafted in the heart of England by Berine Garland. Handmade knives don't come cheap and, in my opinion, if your paying that sort of money for one you want something a bit special. This is why I prefer to use the handle material that I do as opposed to say micarta for example. You wont see any 2 of my knives the same, they're all individual which makes them unique. Although aesthetically pleasing, I do make my knives to be put to work and I guarantee that they will not let you down.
